Three common acupuncture myths

Do you have to believe in it? Is it only for pain? Do the needles go in deep? Three things people often assume about acupuncture.

"You have to believe in it"

You don't need to believe in anything to come for treatment. Just bring an open mind, and I'll explain what I'm doing as we go.

"It's only for pain"

Pain is a common reason people come, but far from the only one. Many people simply feel out of balance, or come for an hour of calm to relax and feel more like themselves.

"The needles go in deep"

In Five Element acupuncture, needling is often very shallow, and some needles are in for just a moment. The needles are hair-fine, and most people are surprised by how little they feel.
