Acupuncture for neck pain
The ASA accepts evidence for short-term relief of neck pain, alongside other treatment.
What the evidence says
The Advertising Standards Authority accepts evidence that acupuncture can offer short-term relief of neck pain, alongside other treatment. As with any pain that's new, severe or getting worse, it's worth having it checked by your GP too.

What a session involves
We'll talk through how the pain started, your posture and daily routine, and your general health. Points are chosen to suit you, often including local points near the neck and shoulders as well as points elsewhere.
Acupuncture needles are solid and hair-fine, far thinner than a needle used for injections. Most people feel a light prick or nothing at all.
What I can't promise
Everyone is different, and acupuncture isn't a substitute for medical care. If you have a diagnosed condition or you're taking medication, keep your GP involved. I'll always tell you honestly whether I think acupuncture is right for you.
